Day 1

Day 2

What could be better than starting your day by summiting Table Mountain? The cable car, with a 360-degree rotating floor, allows you to see the incredible Atlantic seaboard and the many world-renowned beaches that Cape Town has to offer; Camps Bay, Llandudno, Hout Bay and many more. From there, we’ll head to the vibrant Green Market Square, located in the centre of old Cape Town. This historical square was built in 1696, and today, is home to a craft market with some of the best African crafts and designs. Once you’ve gotten your fill of shopping, we’ll take a stroll through the colourful neighbourhood of Bo-Kaap, formerly known as the Cape Malay Quarter. This vibrant and predominantly Muslim neighbourhood will open your eyes to Cape Town’s Islamic history, including the country’s first mosque – the Auwal Masjid.

Day 3

We are sure you have heard of Nelson Mandela, but do you know where he spent eighteen of his twenty-seven year incarceration? We will take a ferry from the V&A Waterfront to Robben Island. Once on the island, you will continue onto the buses that will take you around to each of the historical sites. The island has served many different functions throughout history: everything from a post office, a grazing ground and a mental hospital. A Robben Island tour guide will conduct the prison tour. Once the tour is complete, you will ferry back to the Waterfront, where we will break for lunch. We will end-off the day with a picturesque sunset on Signal Hill, a landmark flat-topped hill located next to Lion’s Head and Table Mountain.

Day 4

The early bird catches the worm and so Day Four will see you up bright and early, on your way to the Southern Karoo. Once you have arrived at the Aquila Private Game Reserve, you will be presented with a glorious breakfast buffet. Your safari is about a three hour drive, on which you will get to see a diverse range of flora and animals – including the famous Big 5. Led by an experienced guide with exciting inside stories, you will learn facts about rhinos, giraffes, elephants, lions and many more! Don’t forget to have your camera ready at all times. After your drive, you will be served a beautiful and completely halal lunch buffet at the lodge. Once finished, you are welcome to cool down in the game reserve’s stunning pool. You can also visit their Curio shop, where you will find many adorable animal souvenirs to take home to loved ones.

Day 5

After a long day out on the plains of the Aquila Private Game Reserve, we’ll let you sleep in. Enjoy a relaxed morning before a shuttle collects you for Friday prayer at the Jumua Mosque of Cape Town. Here, you will have a taste of what life is like for the local Muslim community. We will break bread with the Muslims, before we continue onto the next part of our day; the beautiful Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Famous for its beauty, peaceful ambience and array of flora, this site is one of the top botanical gardens in the world. A truly magical experience, you will wonder whether you are lost in a magical forest.

Day 6

Day Six is for those who came ready to shop. We will spend the morning walking the aisles of the exclusive V&A Waterfront, where the city meets the sea. It is home to hundreds of shops and over eighty restaurants for you to enjoy – many of them catering for halal. There are also other entertainment facilities, such as museums, boat charters and the Aquarium. We will then spend the afternoon at the Canal Walk Shopping Centre, the third largest mall on the African continent. This mall has over four hundred stores, as well as events taking place all the time – for you and for the kids.

Day 7

Are you interested in learning more about the birth of Islam in the Cape? We will visit the various “kramats,” or sacred burial grounds that are located in Bo-kaap. These mark the graves of a few of the first Muslim leaders, who died in the Cape. There are more than twenty recognized kramats in the Peninsula area, with three more within the Western Cape. After this, we will spend a lovely afternoon at the World of Birds, the largest bird park in Africa, with over 3 000 birds and small animals, of about 400 different species. Stroll through the spacious aviary and come face-to-face with nature’s beauty. Set in the Hout Bay Valley, the garden is a paradise for nature and bird lovers alike.

Day 8

Put on your sandals, we’re going to the beach! Day Three sees an early start, touring the Cape Peninsula. We will start our route, moving from Cape Town to Camps Bay, along the Atlantic seaboard. Camps Bay is packed with some of the best restaurants the city has to offer, as well as a break-taking beachfront. From this shoreline, we will move to Hout Bay, where you will enjoy, arguably, the best fish and chips in the country. Chapman’s Peak is next; a mountain on the western side of the Cape Peninsula, where the views cannot get any better. We cannot leave out the Cape Point Ostrich Farm. We will then head to The Cape of Good Hope, as well as Cape Point, a World Heritage site that is home to rich and diverse plant life. Lastly, a trip to Cape Town is not complete without a visit to the Boulders Penguin Colony, in Simon’s Town – home to the African Penguins and a series of beautiful secluded cloves and beaches.

Day 9

The last day is left for your leisure, until your transfer to Cape Town International Airport. There is plenty of time for shopping for your loved ones at home, before your departure.
