Pick-Up and Drive

Eight ‘o clock hotel pick-up.

You will be chauffeured to the V&A Waterfront, where a ferry will be ready for you at the docks. You will then be transferred to the notorious Robben Island.

Robben Island

Once on the island, you will continue onto the buses that will take you around to each of the historical sites. The island has served many different functions throughout history: everything from a post office, a grazing ground and a mental hospital. Later, it became famously known as a prison used during the apartheid era. It held many political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela, who spent eighteen of his twenty-seven year incarceration on the island, before becoming South Africa’s first democratically elected black president. A Robben Island tour guide will conduct the prison tour.

Return Ferry

Once the island tour is completed, you will ferry back to the mainland where we will break for lunch. Cape Town being one of the most Muslim-friendly cities in the world means that we can present you with plenty of halal lunch options.

After re-grouping, we will head to the Southern Suburbs and onto the slopes of Table Mountain, where we will visit the magical and world-renowned Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

Famous for its beauty, peaceful ambience and array of flora, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is one of the top botanical gardens in the world. A truly magical experience, a walk on the Boomslang will leave you wondering if you are lost in a magical forest. In the summer months, locals and tourists alike flock to the gardens to enjoy the many open-air cinemas and concert performances – from both local and international artists. Should you wish to enjoy any of these, you are welcome to request a specific date at the time of booking.

Time to head to the Hotel

It is time to head back to the hotel so that you can send your family and friends your beautifully-captured photographs. After a transfer, you will be dropped off.
